Starter for Ten
In order for children to learn, they need to be ready to learn. Shifting and giving their attention to the activity and then being able to maintain their attention is crucial for executive functioning or thinking. Or, in other words, being able to tune into the activity, prioritise and organise their thoughts so they can make links in their learning, ignore distractions, maintain motivation and self regulate their responses in relation to learning in a social group.
‘STARTER FOR TEN’ explores the link between body position, self regulation, to giving attention and being ready to think and learn. The following course uses a blended learning approach i.e a mixture of face to face learning via Zoom, online learning and reflective practice within your classroom. Training can be provided in your own time after work and within your daily practice. Each participant will receive an information/activity pack.
