Some Kind Words From Our Clients
Francesca is 7 yrs old & has Down’s syndrome
Since joining yoga Francesca’s ability to balance has improved greatly. Whilst playing with her siblings she will randomly go into Some of the poses she’s learnt like a downward dog, a tree or a slithering snake.
Jules has the most calming nature and a natural ability to keep Francesca interested whilst making it fun & something that we both look forward to on a weekly basis. It’s even made me more aware of my “breath” which during times has been a saving grace! Would highly recommend.
It is the time in the week that belongs to him and where he is just a regular boy enjoying yoga. We still smile with great joy when we see him participating fully and independently.
My son is 14 years old and happens to have Down’s Syndrome.
My daughter Grace has been attending Sunrisers Mindful Movement Group for some time now. Since joining the group, her posture, balance and gross motor skills have greatly improved. Her core muscles have also been strengthened. Inclusion has been key for her and it has improved her confidence as well as communication. Grace’s mental well-being has been positive throughout the sessions and the breathing techniques have been a new skill learnt which we have been using to calm situations when things get a bit too much! We always look forward to our weekly sessions.
Age 14, Moderate Learning Disability, Dyspraxia
Grace absolutely loves yoga.
She looks forward to the class every week. I was sceptical before joining as I couldn’t see how anyone could manage to get kids to do the poses, but Julie does this fantastically, making the classes such fun for the children. It’s been great for Graces posture as well as her overall stamina.
Grace (9) who has Down syndrome.

Sunriser’s Mindful Movement Group – A weekly group for children & their parents
Sunriser’s is a group for children who may have some additional needs.
The children should enjoy joining in group activities and social situations. Parents/carers are invited to stay and join in so that they might learn the practices and also enjoy them at home. When children feel confident, they can be left.
The aim is for the children to socialise and have fun with sound, story, physical movement, breath work and deep relaxation. Mindfulness and movement is not only good for the physical body but also for the mind, providing health, mental control, and emotional stability. It has been noted that mindful movement can enhance improvement in gross motor skills, balance, posture, eye contact, imitation skills, attention, time spent on task, sleep, play habits with peers, anxiety, and breathing. In addition, we build positive relations with each other.
